Why does my TekTalk receive phantom calls?

A phantom call, which usually displays nothing or "100" on call-display, is the result of an obscure bug in the Grandstream HT502. This issue typically only affects manually configured adapters as our provisioning service pushes settings which prevent this issue from occurring.

To fix this issue, please follow the below step by step guide:

  1. Open a web browser and log into your ATA by going to the address http://192.168.2.1 (You may need to connect your computer directly to the ATA's LAN port)
  2. Click on the advanced settings tab.
  3. Find "Disable Direct IP Call" and set it to "Yes" (This should be near the bottom of the page)
  4. Click "Apply" (at the bottom center of the page)
  5. Click on the "FXS PORT1" tab
  6. Set the "Primary SIP server" to voip.teksavvy.com
  7. Set the "Outbound Proxy" to voip.teksavvy.com
  8. Set "Validate Incoming SIP Message" to "Yes"
  9. Set "Check SIP User ID for incoming INVITE" to "Yes"
  10. Set "Allow Incoming SIP Messages from SIP Proxy Only" to "Yes"
  11. Set "SUBSCRIBE for MWI" to "No"
  12. Click "Apply" (at the bottom center of the page)

Your Grandstream HT502 should now be free of phantom calls, please contact us if you continue to experience this issue.
