SmartRG 505N: Modem Setup (VDSL) (Routed)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Open a web browser and go to the address http://192.168.1.1.
  2. Click on the Advanced Configuration link. (Top right corner)
  3. Enter the Admin username and password. (admin/admin)
  4. Click on the Advanced Setup link.
  5. Click on the WAN Service link.
  6. If there is anything present in the Wide Area Network (WAN) Service Setup table, check the Remove box(es) and click the Remove button.
  7. Click on the Layer2 Interface link.
  8. Click on the ATM Interface link.
  9. If there is anything present in the DSL ATM Interface Configuration table, check the Remove box(es) and click the Remove button.
  10. Click on the PTM Interface link.
  11. If there is anything present in the DSL PTM Interface Configuration table, check the Remove box(es) and click the Remove button.
  12. Click the Add button found on the PTM Interface page.
  13. Check the Path0 (Fast) and Path1 (Interleaved) boxes. (This step is not applicable on the most recent firmware version)
  14. Click Apply/Save.
  15. Click the WAN Service link.
  16. Click the Add button.
  17. Select the appropriate WAN Service Interface Configuration value from the drop down list:
  18. Click Next.
  19. Select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE).
  20. Set the 802.1P Priority field to 1 (ON/QC) or -1 (AB/BC).
  21. Set the 802.1Q VLAN ID field to 35 (ON/QC) or -1 (AB/BC).
  22. Click Next.
  23. Enter the customer's DSL username into the PPP Username field.
  24. Enter the customer's DSL password into the PPP Password field.
  25. If the customer is using TekTalk, check the Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and LAN Ports box.
  26. Check the Enable Firewall box.
  27. Check the Enable NAT box.
  28. If the customer is using TekTalk, check the Enable SIP box.
  29. Click Next.
  30. Click Next. (Routing -- Default Gateway page)
  31. Click Next. (DNS Server Configuration page)
  32. Click Apply/Save (WAN Setup - Summary page)
