Setup Your Email in the Windows 8 Mail App

Windows 8 comes with a built in email client application. The following instructions will guide you through how to setup TekSavvy email for this app.

  1. Click on the bottom left hand corner of the screen to open the Metro Start Menu.
  2. Click on (or search for) the default Windows Mail application.
  3. Hover over the bottom right corner of the screen then click on the Settings button.
  4. Click on Accounts.
  5. Click on Add an account.
  6. Click on Other account.
  7. Select IMAP. (Note: POP3 is not available in the Mail app)
  8. Click on the Connect button.
  9. Click on the Show more details link.
  10. Enter your:
    • Email address.
    • Username. (This is the same as the email address)
    • Password.
    • IMAP server. (mail.teksavvy.com)
    • Port. (143)
    • UNCHECK Incoming server requires SSL.
    • Outgoing SMTP email server. (out.teksavvy.com)
    • Port. (1025)
    • CHECK Outgoing server requires authentication.
    • CHECK Use the same username and password to send and receive email.
  11. Click on the Connect button.
