Technicolor/Cisco DPC3848 - How To Setup Port Forwarding

  1. Navigate to the Cisco DPC3848's management interface. (192.168.0.1)
  2. Click on the DOCSIS WAN tab.
  3. Enter you administrative username and password in the User Name and Password fields, then click Log In.
    • If you have not altered their username and password, simply click Log In.
  4. Click on the Setup tab.
  5. Click on the LAN Setup tab.
  6. Click on the Connected Devices Summary button to ensure that the device you need to setup port forwarding for is currently connected to the DPC3848.
  7. Copy the MAC address for the device you wish to setup port forwarding for.
  8. Click on the Pre-assigned DHCP IP Addresses button.
  9. Paste the MAC address that you copied in step 7 into the MAC address field and enter the preferred IP address into the Assign to IP field. NOTE: The MAC Address must be in the following format: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx.
  10. Click the Add Static IP button.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Click on the Applications & Gaming tab.
  13. Click on the Port Range Forwarding tab.
  14. Click on Add Port Forwarding Rule.
  15. Enter the below information into the Rule you created:
  16. External Start Port =
  17. External End Port =
  18. Internal IP Address = enter the IP address you statically assigned to the device
  19. Internet Port = blank
  20. Protocol = Both
  21. Enable = check the box
  22. Click Save Settings.
  23. Powercycle the modem.
