All About the Grandstream HT812

Introduction:

The Grandstream HT-812 delivers powerful VoIP technology and easy-to-use capabilities for your home phone needs. Equipped with 2 FS ports and a Gigabit NAT router to provide you with connectivity solutions.

Hardware Specifications:

  • Routed and Bridge modes supported (routed by default).

How to Factory Reset:

Pressing the physical reset button on the back of the ATA for at least 7 seconds will initiate a factory reset.

How to Set Up in Bridge Mode (only recommended when placed in between a modem and router)

  1. Connect a PC directly to the LAN port of the ATA using an Ethernet cable.

  2. Navigate to the ATA's web interface. (http://192.168.2.1)

  3. Log into the ATA using the User password.

  4. Click on the BASIC SETTINGS tab.

  5. Scroll down to the section titled NAT/DHCP Server Information & Configuration and set the Device Mode field to Bridge.

  6. Click Update.

  7. Click Apply.

  8. Click Reboot

How to Set Up in PPPoE Mode

  1. Connect a PC directly to the LAN port of the ATA using an Ethernet cable.

  2. Navigate to the ATA's web interface. (http://192.168.2.1)

  3. Log into the ATA using the User password.

  4. Click on the BASIC SETTINGS tab.

  5. Set the IP Address field to use PPPoE.

  6. Set the PPPoE account ID to the username.

  7. Set the PPPoE password to the password

  8. Click Apply

How to Change the Default Gateway’s IP Address

  1. Connect the computer that will be used for the configuration in the LAN port of the ATA.

  2. Access the ATA's interface via the address 192.168.2.1.

  3. Log in with the default admin credentials (admin/admin).

  4. Click on the Basic Settings tab.

  5. Under "NAT/DHCP Server Information & Configuration" section, update the following fields:

    • LAN DHCP Base IP: Enter an address different than 192.168.2.1 as long it ends with ".1" (ex.: 192.168.3.1).

    • LAN DHCP Start IP: Enter the first IP address that can be assigned in the subnet (ex.: 192.168.3.2).

    • LAN DHCP End IP: Enter the last IP address that can be assigned in the subnet (ex.: 192.168.3.254).

  6. Click on Update, then Reboot.
