In this article, we will discuss your options when looking to change your public IP address.
DSL Internet
To receive a new IP address you need to unplug your modem from the power source for a full 2-3 minutes. A new IP should be generated once it reconnects. If you have a Static IP you must request a change from an agent.
Cable Internet
We do apologize, but the IP address cannot be changed as it can be on DSL. It is assigned via a 3rd party vendor in blocks and we cannot request a new one to be pushed.
Fibre Internet
For TekSavvy Fibre customers we ask that you contact us to assist you in this request if the following does not provide a new IP. Unplug your router from the power source for a full 2-3 minutes. A new IP should be generated once it reconnects.
