How to Request a PTR Record or Reverse DNS

Contents

A PTR record, also known as a Pointer Record, is a piece of information (a record) that is attached to an email message. The purpose of the PTR record is to verify that the sender matches the IP address it claims to be using. This email ID check process is also known as reverse DNS lookup.

To make this request, please e-mail a detailed message to: dnsadmin@teksavvy.com

Make sure you include the following:

    • Your Account Number (CID)
    • Full technical details of your request

Note: PTR Record or Reverse DNS requires a static IP which is only available on residential DSL and Fibre services. We do not offer static IPs on residential cable at this time.

Please do not email this contact for technical or customer support as these requests will not be actioned. Our alternative contacts can be found here.
